At the end of each year, I take the opportunity to review the year that went by and there is lots to be grateful for this year too. I haven’t yet gotten to saying goodbye to 2016 though. There are still a couple of months to go before I look at the year gone by in all sincerity.
There is a very thin line between doer-ship and effort. Effort can easily lead to the feeling of doer-ship. Effort challenges while doer-ship tires. There is a constant balancing act between putting 100% effort and not feeling doer-ship. The activity that I most attempt to maintain this delicate balance on is with organising the Art of Living programs. The question you may ask though is – why is it important to me to persist with organising these programs and what benefit or outcome do I derive out of this?
Yes there is joy in seeing people come in to a program and leave behind negativities, stresses, tensions, anxieties, doubts and the list can go on.
But even then the effort of bringing new people to programs can be challenging, at times even tiring. Many of you probably are amused or even mildly annoyed when you hear from me about an upcoming program. Why then do I continue to toil with no clearly articulated gain? At least not visibly. Of course I do not claim to be the sole inspiration on this journey. There are many significantly more effective volunteers and teachers out there.
The reason is simple. It is a journey of attempting to explain the unexplainable. The world is filled with sceptics everywhere. Even my closest relatives while outwardly appreciative of my beliefs inwardly wonder why I am so carried away by it all. Yet those on this journey with me will acknowledge that once one gets even a small glimpse of what the spirit is, the desire to share that experience with others becomes very strong. We may write reams, compose eloquent verses on it and yet feel how inadequate we have been in conveying anything but a concept. And a concept it is not! So one hopes that people and especially the sceptics can experience it for themselves. And that feeling of making people see infinity even if for a moment is unexplainable.
There are but a few of opportunities left this year to make a difference to others. A Wellness Workshop on 30th November and a couple of Happiness Programs before 2016 is done and dusted (Nov 3-6 & Dec 8-11)
There would be nothing better than spreading further waves of happiness before this year is done.
